1. ONLINE AA MEETINGS
Meetings are crucial for a lot of recovering alcoholics to stay sober and prevent relapse. The Online Intergroup has many online options to take advantage of from one day at a time meetings to 12 step meetings to many more. We encourage you to check out your options with them here.
2. AUDIO SUPPORT FOR AA
Audio is a great way to continue getting support when you can’t get to a physical in person AA meeting. This type of resource is helpful because it’s generally hosted by someone who has experienced a drug or alcohol addiction and is sharing their experiences and tips/resources with the public. Getting support from someone who gets you is invaluable when it comes to recovery and refraining from a relapse. Here is a list of resources that will help.
Recovery Audio was developed back in 2014 by a recovering alcoholic and and has thousands of AA recordings from AA speakers (many well-known). 3. PODCASTS
Just like audio tracks, podcasts are another form of audio that will offer tremendous support. Here is a list of a few popular podcasts to check out.
Bubble Hour, hosted by Jean M., seeks to inform, educate and help people identify with the stories they hear, the conversations and interviews with people who are just like they are, and let people know they aren’t alone. Nobody can take the first tentative steps towards sobriety without first getting past denial, but even once they are past denial the stigma surrounding alcoholism is so strong that people are reluctant to seek help. The Bubble Hour would like to change that stigma. Jean and the vibrant community of sober people who join her here, will be recording and offering this show for anyone to listen to for information, community, empathy and understanding.
That Sober Guy was created by Producer Shane Ramer. Shane battled a 17 year alcohol and drug addiction and in 2013 he sought treatment. Less than a year later, he started That Sober Guy Podcast as a way to share his own recovery and allow others to share theirs. Today, TSG is one of the top recovery podcasts with millions of downloads across multiple continents.
Sober Cast is an AA meeting in a Podcast. Sobercast is an (unofficial) Alcoholics Anonymous podcast featuring AA speaker meetings and workshops. This is not a discussion podcast, simply speaker meetings and workshops in a podcast format.
