Celebrating Art, Mental Health, and Community

THE HEALING WINDOW PROJECT

The Healing Window Project

ART HEALS. COMMUNITY THRIVES.

At Elliott Counseling Group, we believe that healing happens in many ways—and art is one of the most powerful. Through creativity, we process emotions, share stories, and find connection.

That’s why we created The Healing Window Project — a rotating artist residency in Urbana, Illinois, designed to celebrate art, mental wellness, and community connection.

This unique initiative transforms our Urbana office into a living, evolving gallery, showcasing local artists whose work reflects the spirit of healing, growth, and creativity.

WHY ART MATTERS

Art and mental health are deeply intertwined. Whether we’re painting, sculpting, or simply observing, art gives us space to reflect, process, and grow.

It encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and helps express what words cannot. By integrating art into our counseling environment, we remind every visitor that healing is both a science and an art.

Through The Healing Window Project, we’re not only uplifting local artists—we’re fostering community resilience and emotional wellness across East Urbana and Champaign County.

MORE THAN AN ART DISPLAY

The Healing Window Project is more than an art display—it’s a community collaboration. Each participating artist helps us turn our counseling space into a visual representation of hope and self-expression.

Located at 2001 Philo Road in Urbana, our windows and lobby become a creative canvas that changes throughout the year, bringing new perspectives and vibrant energy to East Urbana.

What Artists Can Expect From The Healing Window Project.

Each artist-in-residence will have the opportunity to:

  • Create a window mural at our Urbana office, transforming our front-facing windows into a work of art that uplifts all who pass by.

  • Display and sell select pieces on our Lobby Gallery Wall — with 100% of proceeds going directly to the artist.

  • Be featured on our website and social media, where we’ll highlight your creative journey, inspiration, and connection to mental wellness.

  • Join us for the Boneyard Creek Arts Festival in the spring! (see more info on this below)

Residencies last 1–3 months, and new artists are featured throughout the year. This rotating model allows our space—and our community—to continually experience new forms of creative expression.

CELEBRATING ART & COMMUNITY

This Spring, Elliott Counseling Group will participate in the Boneyard Creek Arts Festival, where The Healing Window Project will take center stage.

We’ll host an open gallery event at our Urbana office to celebrate our featured artists. Visitors can explore the artwork, meet the artists, and learn how art and mental health intertwine to promote healing, connection, and hope.

This celebration will serve as a reminder that when we support creativity, we strengthen community wellbeing.
