Supporting your mental health and overall well-being
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Our Nurse Practitioners provide compassionate, individualized medication management services to support your mental health and overall wellness.
Medication can be an essential part of treatment for many individuals experiencing mental health challenges. Our goal is to ensure that each person receives thoughtful, informed, and safe medication support that complements their therapeutic care.
Our Nurse Practitioners take the time to understand your story—your symptoms, your experiences, and your goals—so that any medication decisions are made collaboratively and with care. We believe that medication management is not just about prescriptions; it’s about education, partnership, and ongoing support to help you feel more stable, focused, and in control of your mental health.
WHAT IS MEDICATION MANAGEMENT?
Medication management is the process of evaluating, prescribing, and monitoring psychiatric medications to help manage symptoms of mental health conditions. This involves an ongoing, collaborative relationship between you and your Nurse Practitioner to ensure the treatment is effective, safe, and aligned with your personal goals and overall wellness plan.
Your provider will carefully assess your mental health history, previous treatment experiences, and current challenges. They will discuss potential benefits, side effects, and alternatives for each medication option, empowering you to make informed decisions about your care. Follow-up visits allow for close monitoring, dosage adjustments, and open communication about how you’re feeling—because we know that successful medication care depends on regular, responsive support.
Medication management at Elliott Counseling Group emphasizes balance: we aim to find the right combination of therapy and medication that supports your healing and growth without overmedication or unnecessary changes.

COLLABORATIVE CARE & TEAM BASED APPROACH
At Elliott Counseling Group, collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We believe that mental health treatment is most effective when all members of your care team work together. Our Nurse Practitioners maintain open communication with our therapists, ensuring that your medication management and therapy complement one another for the best possible outcomes.
Through this integrated approach, our providers share insights and coordinate care plans that address the full scope of your mental health—mind, body, and emotions. This teamwork allows us to identify patterns, track progress, and make well-informed decisions as your needs evolve.
If you are already seeing a therapist at Elliott Counseling Group, your Nurse Practitioner will collaborate closely with them. If you are new to therapy, we can also help connect you with one of our licensed therapists to create a comprehensive and well-rounded treatment plan.
CONDITIONS WE SUPPORT
Our experienced Nurse Practitioners provide medication management for a wide range of mental health conditions. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, struggling with focus and attention, or managing complex mood symptoms, our team is dedicated to helping you find stability and relief through personalized care. We approach every condition with compassion, professionalism, and evidence-based treatment planning.
NOTE: While this list highlights many of the conditions we treat, it’s not exhaustive. If you don’t see your specific concern listed, our Client Care Team would be happy to talk with you about your needs.
ANXIETY DISORDERS:
Anxiety can affect every aspect of life—from your ability to concentrate and sleep to your relationships and sense of peace. Our Nurse Practitioners provide medication management for various anxiety-related conditions, including generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, and other forms of chronic stress. Medication can help reduce symptoms such as excessive worry, restlessness, racing thoughts, or physical tension. We work closely with clients to find a safe and effective balance between medication and therapeutic techniques for long-term symptom management.
DEPRESSION & MOOD DISORDERS:
Depression can manifest as sadness, fatigue, loss of motivation, or difficulty finding joy in everyday life. Our providers take time to understand your specific experiences and symptoms to identify whether antidepressant or mood-stabilizing medication might help restore balance and energy. Through ongoing follow-up and collaboration with your therapist, we ensure that your treatment plan evolves as you do—supporting your progress and overall emotional health every step of the way.
ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder):
Living with ADHD can impact focus, organization, impulse control, and performance at work, school, or home. Our Nurse Practitioners are skilled in assessing and managing ADHD in both adolescents and adults. We offer a thoughtful, individualized approach that includes the careful selection and monitoring of stimulant and non-stimulant medications. Our team prioritizes open communication to help you better understand how your medication works, what to expect, and how to integrate other coping and behavioral strategies alongside medication to achieve optimal results.
PTSD & TRAUMA-RELATED CONDITIONS:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and trauma-related symptoms can cause flashbacks, anxiety, irritability, and emotional numbing that make everyday life feel overwhelming. Our providers use a trauma-informed approach that emphasizes safety, empowerment, and compassion. Medication management may help reduce hyperarousal, anxiety, and mood instability, allowing clients to engage more effectively in therapy and daily life. We collaborate with therapists to ensure that medication complements the healing process without overshadowing it.
SLEEP DIFFICULTIES:
Sleep plays a critical role in mental health and overall wellness. Many clients experience trouble falling or staying asleep as part of anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges. Our Nurse Practitioners assess the root causes of your sleep issues and explore both short-term and long-term options for improving rest. This may include medication support, lifestyle recommendations, or collaboration with your therapist to address underlying factors affecting your sleep patterns.
BIPOLAR DISORDER & OTHER MOOD REGULATION CONCERNS:
Bipolar disorder and related mood regulation conditions require attentive, consistent care. Our team provides structured medication management to help stabilize mood swings, reduce the intensity of manic or depressive episodes, and improve daily functioning. We understand the importance of individualized treatment and closely monitor progress, side effects, and overall well-being. By coordinating with your therapist, we ensure your medication plan aligns with your therapeutic goals for a balanced, steady recovery journey.
WHAT TO EXPECT WITH MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
Your journey begins with a comprehensive initial evaluation with one of our Nurse Practitioners. During this appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your mental health history, current symptoms, medical background, and treatment goals. This is also your chance to ask questions and explore your options—whether medication may be right for you, or if a combination of therapy and other supports would be more effective.
If medication is recommended, your provider will explain how it works, what to expect, and any possible side effects. You’ll receive education on how to take the medication safely and what signs to look for as your body adjusts. Follow-up appointments will then focus on monitoring your response, making necessary dosage adjustments, and ensuring you feel supported throughout the process.
Our goal is not simply to prescribe medication, but to help you achieve balance, clarity, and improved quality of life through a thoughtful, ongoing partnership.
