Nicole Epperson is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and has been working in the field for more than a decade. Nicole has worked in outpatient counseling, residential treatment, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services. Nicole has a passion for helping the youth, tweens, teens, adults, families, and couples. She received her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Adler University School of Professional Psychology.
Nicole enjoys working with the LGBTQIA+ community to support them through their mental health journey. She is also experienced in working with clients who are dealing with chronic pain and chronic medical conditions. Some other areas that she is skilled in working with include grief and loss, addiction, relationship issues and family issues.
Nicole’s therapy approach is person-centered to create a judgement free space to explore and process what the client is going through. She enjoys using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients change thoughts and behaviors that are destructive and to empower and guide clients to gain control of emotions. Another modality that she finds useful is Motivational Interviewing to establish rapport with clients and help facilitate change within. Through this, she leverages strengths-based and solution focused approaches.
Interesting fact #1: Nicole has been taking dance lessons since she was 6 years old.
Interesting face #2: She spends time bullet journaling every day and find it helps me stay organized, maintain a positive outlook, and reduces overall stress levels.
