Jaclyn “Jax” Peterson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She has experience doing assessments, case management, making treatment plans, and facilitating and building support systems. She has worked extensively with utilizing the IM-CAT (Crisis Assessment Tool) and IM-CANs (Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths) assessments.
Jax is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults. Over the course of her career, she has worked with a wide range of populations and diagnoses. Some of those areas include bipolar, PTSD, panic attack, ADHD, personality, antisocial, oppositional and trauma (emotional, sexual, physical, community violence), and crisis management. While she is passionate about helping clients in these areas, she also supports clients with many issues including life transitions, anxiety, depression, and many other mood and personality disorders.
Jax utilizes many modalities including Person-centered, Solution-Based, Empathetic Listening, Strengths-Based, Building Support Systems, and Psychoeducation. She primarily supports seeing clients who are seeking a Therapist in Champaign-Urbana and Telehealth Therapy in Illinois.
