Erica Aina, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) is also a member of the Elliott Counseling Group Leadership Team. Erica specializes in working with adolescents who are dealing with trauma, personality disorders or sexual assault or gender issues. While Erica is passionate about helping children and adolescents, she also supports adults from ages 18 to 65+ with many issues including anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, depression, and past trauma.
Erica received a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She has worked extensively with case management within the foster care system as well as inpatient adolescent psychiatric unit.
Erica’s therapy style is person-centered as she likes to primarily analyze the client’s individual needs and personality. She often utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and when working with children utilizes play therapy
Interesting Fact #1: Erica has a pet cat, whom is named Scout in honor of her favorite book, “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Interesting Fact #2: She loves to be connected with nature by working outside in the garden and hiking.
