STEPHANIE WILLIAMSON, LPC

What kind of provider do you see yourself as?

“I provide an eclectic approach to therapy that draws upon the strengths of various evidence-based models that best support the uniqueness of an individual. My style includes a strong therapeutic alliance that demonstrates positive regard, safety, empathy, and understanding. By providing a collaborative and trusting relationship, we work together toward meeting personal goals in therapy.”

Stephanie Williamson, LPC brings a wealth of experience and heart to her work. She earned her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Illinois–Springfield and has worked primarily with children and adolescents demonstrating sexual behavior problems, as well as youth who have experienced sexual abuse.

Her approach is rooted in CBT, attachment theory, and a strengths-based, eclectic framework.

As a clinician, Stephanie values transparency, appropriate self-disclosure, and breaking down the power/authority dynamic to foster meaningful connection and rapport with her clients. She’s particularly passionate about working with teenagers, but she has experience with clients as young as 3 years old and is excited to see clients across the lifespan.

Her areas of interest and specialty include life transitions, anxiety, depression, career struggles, social justice issues, trauma, grief and loss, and both survivors and youth with sexual behavior concerns. Stephanie is deeply attuned to how trauma impacts the body and believes that authentic connection is the foundation of healing.
