CARLA CRAVENS, LCSW 

Carla Cravens has a Masters in Social Work from the University of Illinois and has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 18+ years. She is adept at working with a wide variety of issues including spiritual growth and development, bereavement, death and dying, addressing pain, depression, and building coping skills. Carla is also a Clinical Social Worker in Gerontology and is trained in the aging process and related issues that older adults and their caregivers face.

Carla also has experience working with victims of violence as well as assessing and treating individuals with chronic mental illness. She primarily uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She has expertise in providing couples therapy, and also in facilitating groups for divorcing parents with children. Carla works with adults.

Interesting fact #1: Carla has a calm, caring, gentle and reassuring presence. She intuitively works to guide individuals forward in their personal growth.

Interesting fact #2: Carla is a Master Gardener, lives with her husband (who describes himself as the “Master Laborer”) and two cats rescued from the Joplin tornado.
