Private mental health practice is seeking full time Clinical Director. This is a full-time salary position with benefits, including 1/2 paid employer health insurance, three weeks Paid Time Off, and matching Simple IRA.
Salary $75-85K, commensurate with experience.
- LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT
- 7+ years of direct clinical experience
- 4+ years supervisory experience
- 2 managerial experience
- Strength-based, reflective supervision style
- Diverse range of clinical knowledge with direct experience with multiple issues and ages
- Comfortable and knowledgeable with a variety of modalities (and the ability to recognize which modalities are being used when reporting therapist work)
- In-depth understanding of diagnosing and assessment
- Ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective and efficient clinical documentation in a private (non-Medicaid) setting.
- Reliable and mature
- Productive with strong organization and procedure writing skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Very adept at Microsoft products and email
- Very adept at learning the company EHR system (currently Valant)
- Ability and willingness to network in the community and on social media
This position, under the direction of the CEO (and Executive Clinical Director semi-retired/Owner) is responsible to provide oversight to teams of employees, providing behavioral therapy to adults, family, and youth at a variety of locations. This includes clinics in Champaign and nearby counties, as well as distant practitioners. This may include licensed therapists (LCSWs, LCPCs, LMFTs, LSWs, and LPCs), Psychiatrists, Psychologists, interns, wellness practitioners, consultants, and coaches.
As Clinical Director, you will participate in the decisions of the Executive Leadership team, including strategic vision, objectives, goals, policies and procedures, and budget-- serving as the subject matter expert from a clinical perspective. It requires advising and participating in an expanded role as the company expands into different markets or business models or adds to the services of the current model.
With the Executive Leadership team (CEO, Business Manager, Clinical Director), this position is responsible for determining, the makeup of the Clinical line staff, as well as the Clinical Leadership team (possibly including: Clinical Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Mentor, Wellness Coordinator) and some specific administrative assistant. The position would be responsible to develop the budget, determining responsibilities, write job descriptions, present request to CEO with justification, interview, write and facilitate job offers, negotiate contract detail, execute contracts, hire and train. All job duties as defined in this document are subject to being assigned to others on the Clinical Leadership team, with the ultimate responsibility being held by the Clinical Director.
The Clinical Director will provide strong leadership, including positive role-modeling, clear direction, professional supervision, onboarding and profession development of clinical staff; conduct performance evaluations, including further development and monitoring of Performance Key Indicators (PKI) and discipline/corrective measures as needed for all reports; provide supervision directly to clinicians for all complicated clients (for instance: legal issues, complicated family overlap, multiple therapist, or as requested by Clinical Leadership team.) The role also requires the Director to provide suggestion and planning then oversee and ensure implementation of new/changing procedures as they effect clinical team from inception through implementation. This will encompass in-depth knowledge of EMR (currently Valant) and writing all procedures as they relate to clinical team. The position will also be hands-on involved with recommending and developing procedures to best utilize the EMR and all software that involves clinical staff. This will include extensive knowledge of EMR and interaction with the EMR company (currently Valant) as necessary to determine best utilization. Work interdepartmentally as well as with other leadership (and solo as necessary) to develop policy and procedures in regard to how the clinical staff relates to company policy, work flow and/or administrative staff. Creating all training material and documentation regarding procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance of clinical staff and ensuring that all policies and procedures are well written and well organized and carried out are Clinical Director job duties.
As Clinical Director, it is essential to participate to meet the company’s needs and obligations regarding crisis and emergencies.
A big role of the Clinical Director will include ensuring that the clinical staff is well rounded in various evidenced based modalities and treatment approaches for wide variety of clients including adults and children with a wide variety of presenting issues thru identifying needs, hiring, training, continuing education, professional development of staff.
You will facilitate collaborations to build service capacity (recruitment) and referral base through community outreach, partnerships, networking in person and on social media; work with Executive team to maintain a climate which attracts, recognizes, keeps and motivates a staff of top-quality clinicians; consult and prepare material as needed to keep the company advised for compliance with all legalities and best ethics practice regarding medical records and clinical services. (Consult with Executive Clinical Director, Legal counsel or HR [Consultant] as necessary); ensure clinical staff comply with all legal and ethical guidelines; work directly with HR [consultant] to stay within all legal, ethical and best practices with regard to hiring and treatment of staff.
The Clinical Director role requires you to work with Business Development team, serving as subject matter expert to facilitate, produce and promote media and social media content (TV appearances, videos, blog posts, social media posts).
And lastly, it is essential to be a top performer in all aspects of therapist’s duties, maintain a case load of 5-10 clients, as directed and reviewed semi-annually.
