Molly McLay is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with her MSW from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her passion is empowering clients healing from gender-based violence and trauma, such as sexual assault and relationship abuse, as well as working with anxiety and sexual and gender identity concerns. She utilizes a combination of therapeutic modalities, drawing from CBT, DBT, ACT, mindfulness practices, and expressive arts. She also currently works at the University of Illinois campus as a sexual assault prevention educator and advocate. Her previous social work experience includes medical advocacy and counseling with sexual assault survivors, pregnancy case management, new parent education, and sexual health education.
Interesting Fact #1: Molly is an accomplished poet and musician! Most of her work focuses on the ways our live intersect with our experiences of gender.
Interesting Fact #2: The love of Molly's life is her adorable "forever puppy," Oliver, who is a Cavalier King Charles spaniel / poodle rescue that she has had for many years.
