Kevin Shepherd is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has served as a crisis clinician and has worked in out patient and residential settings. Much of his work is centered around adolescents that have experienced persistent emotional abuse and other traumas.
He has extensive work in working with youth and adults in managing depressive symptoms and the stress that comes with life adjustments and changes. He has supported those with grief and loss issues. Kevin has a passion to also work with clients struggling with sexual identity issues. He enjoys working with those who have issues with gaming and technology.
He utilizes an eclectic blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Solution Focused approaches and is supportive, relational, and direct as he assists his clients in moving forward with their life.
Interesting Fact #1: I interviewed for a reality television show prior to graduate school and made it in the "Top 40" of potential show candidates on NBC's "The Biggest Loser.".
Interesting Fact #2: I am a huge technology "buff" and enjoy spending time tinkering with computers, playing video games, and spending a little too much time on social media.
