Dirk Mol is a Licensed Professional Counselor, LCPC (Md), with a Master of Divinity degree in Psychology and Religion. Dirk has been practicing as a licensed therapist since 1996 and has been working for Elliott Counseling Group since 2008. He provides perspectives and competencies outside the experience of many therapists, with specialization in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, (EMDR), and with sensorimotor psychotherapy.
Dirk is an expert clinician and assessment specialist, particularly skillful in working with individuals with histories of trauma, with anxiety disorders, with substance abuse and addictive behaviors, with sexual identity issues, and with personality disorders.
Dirk uses body awareness to explore and enhance all the dimensions of a client's emotional and spiritual well-being. Also trained in understanding trauma and dissociation, "I work for healing of mind and spirit with persons who have experienced deep wounds, for changing pattern of behavior and emotional responses, and for enhancing the ability to live fully and effectively."
He believes therapy is a collaborative effort between client and therapist and that the goal is tapping the full potential of every individual for joyful satisfying life. In conjunction with other healing professionals, he works towards a holistic, comprehensive healing of the whole person.
He also believes flexibility is a key to effective therapy. Working with clients in a manner that meets their needs is a high priority.
Interesting fact: Dirk also has experience in therapy for healing from ritual abuse, clergy abuse and the effects of trauma from dysfunctional religious experiences.
