Jolie Carsten is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign,and is a practicing therapist as well as Clinical Director. She has worked in the counseling field for over two decades and has been providing clinical supervision and program direction for over a decade. She has extensive experience working with a wide variety of issues including childhood disorders and behavioral issues, parenting struggles, family and partner conflict, mood and anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger management and impulse control disorders, sexual abuse or assault and domestic violence, substance abuse disorders, and self-harming or suicidal ideation. She has an eclectic approach to therapy that is strength-based and client-driven including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
