Phillip M. Chmielewski is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has over 15 years experience in the field.
Phil treats clients in most all age ranges. He has a very calm and patient demeanor and always tries to empathize with his client’s needs and experiences. He has treated a wide variety of mental health issues including behavior disorders in children, adults and families such as: mood disorders (depression, bipolar, anxiety disorders) PTSD, Asperger’s Syndrome, Alzheimer’s, learning disabilities and ADHD, just to name a few. Phil utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for his adult patients and more creative methods, such as Play Therapy, when treating children.
Phil has broad knowledge in administering, scoring, and interpreting neuropsychological and psychological tests. He has worked with both Carle Clinic Neuropsychology Services and Covenant Medical Center Neuropsychology Services. In addition, Phil brings vast experience working with children, adolescents and families from The Pavilion and extensive familiarity with foster care and adoption from Generations of Hope.
Interesting fact #1: I enjoy cooking and eating freshwater fish and I occasionally go saltwater fishing.
