Olivia Buttram is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from Eastern Illinois University. She has experience with the assessment and treatment of adults and children experiencing mental health effects from trauma, abuse, grief, depression, anxiety, relationship attachment disruption, mood disorders, and self-harm.
Olivia assesses and provides treatment for children and their families by utilizing her specialized training in Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Theraplay. She has worked with many children who presented with attachment and relational issues with their parents due to foster care placement, adoption, and parental substance abuse.
In working with adults, Olivia adopts a Strengths-Based/Wellness approach and has much training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. She is dedicated to providing a supportive environment and individualized treatment for each of her clients, based on their specific needs.
Interesting fact #1: I enjoy painting, crafting, and crocheting in my spare time. Interesting fact #2: I consider myself a bit of a psychology geek, and I love reading research about personality testing (especially the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator).
